Bamboo Robe

Wouldn’t it be good if you could indulge in a luxurious bathrobe? Your answer is probably “yes,” but chances are you haven’t done it. For many, it ends up just being a passing thought that never gets anywhere and is soon forgotten. There are many reasons why we don’t treat ourselves well. One key reason is money. Another reason is we feel guilty if we indulge and pamper ourselves. Or, maybe we’re just too lazy to shop for ourselves? We stick to our old stuff because we’re convinced that it’ll take too much effort.

Should we hang on to these excuses? Purchasing a luxurious bathrobe is an excellent investment for five reasons.

The first reason to indulge in a luxurious bathrobe is because a good bathrobe will be with you for years. Sure you are likely to spend more, but if you pay more for something that is of superior quality, there is no money wasted.

Second, investing in a luxurious bathrobe is purchasing an item that will feel terrific on. There’s nothing quite as comfortable as a soft and fluffy bathrobe to cover up in after a bath or shower.

Third, a luxurious bathrobe is an item that you can not only wear after a bath or shower but also just wear as a cozy item for a lazy day. Hanging around the house in your bathrobe is fun and comfortable.

Fourth, time is not a problem with buying a bathrobe if you order it online. That’s the beauty of the Internet. You don’t have to drive all the way to a store to buy a luxurious bathrobe. You can buy one from the convenience of your home.

Fifth, ordering a luxurious bathrobe from the convenience of your home will provide you with more options. It is highly likely that you will have a wider selection of items to choose online rather than from a brick and mortar location.

So, consider these five reasons and go ahead and indulge in that elegant and luxurious bathrobe for yourself!

Bamboo Towels

You’ll never guess what the latest craze is to make your bathroom eco-friendly. Want to try to guess?

“Is it saving water with a low-flow toilet?” No, that’s so 2008.

“What about saving water with a better shower head?” No, you’re still off the mark. Think of something other than water.

“I give up. Just tell me already!”

Ok, here it is: bamboo fiber towels. Now, I know what you must be thinking: “A towel made out of bamboo? No thank you, I’d rather use my welcome mat to dry myself.” If this is what comes to mind, however – a scratchy, uncomfortable towel destined to be the latest failed effort of the green movement – you’d be completely wrong.

Bamboo can be used for a whole array of applications. From durable scaffolding on high-rise construction, to resilient, beautiful flooring, it seems that the uses for this Asian plant will never end. The latest among these uses is bamboo towels and bamboo bathroom rugs.

Bamboo fiber is five times more absorbent than cotton, yet it dries even faster. While most types of textiles need chemical treatments or synthetic ingredients to achieve such bragging rights, the structure of bamboo fiber is perfect for drying. Bamboo fibers are oblong and hollow, which explains why they have such amazing absorbent and quick-drying capabilities.

Furthermore, bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial, resisting infiltration by staph bacteria, E. coli, and other bacteria types. Not only can a bamboo fiber towel improve your family’s health, its bacteria resistance also means that the towels don’t tend to start smelling.

Finally, bamboo is a renewable resource that can be grown organically. An organic bamboo fiber towel or bathroom rug gives you all the best that eco-friendly products have to offer.

Platinum Robes

After a long summer that didn’t seem to want to end, people all across the United States are suddenly finding themselves in the midst of one of the coldest, snowiest Decembers on record.

In Minneapolis, there’s been so much snow that the inflatable roof of the Metrodome actually collapsed – a first. For the Twin Cities, the recent snowfall is the fifth biggest on record.

The rest of the Midwest isn’t faring much better; blizzards have been swirling around now for a couple of weeks. Colorado, too, is reporting record snow, and the white stuff has been spotted as far south as North Carolina and Alabama.

Get Thee a Bathrobe!

Given the record cold, anyone without a terry cotton bathrobe is simply tempting fate – or else has never experienced the joy of staying home from work or school wrapped up in a terry cotton bathrobe, sipping on coffee, watching bright red cardinals flit about in a whitened winter wonderland.

A terry cotton bathrobe is both man and woman’s best friend this time of year, and it doesn’t have to remain in use just to make it to and from the bathroom. On those snowed-in days when all you really want to do is sit around the house in warm slippers in front of a peaceful fire, a soft terry cotton bathrobe is the perfect accessory to drape on over your flannel pajamas.

Although luxury towels, bath mats and bathrobes may seem like Western concepts, a little research will show that almost every continent has chipped in to make robes, hand towels and bath towels what they are today.

The more popular styles of bathrobe include the waffle kimono and the terry velour kimono robes, and, of course, everyone knows that the kimono came out of Japan, where, for centuries, it was the outfit of choice for not only men and women, but children as well. The modern bathrobe is, in fact, extremely similar to the classic kimono as, not only can it too be worn by both sexes – and there are also special kids robes – the luxurious waffle and terry bathrobes can, just like today’s kimono, also be made from cotton and polyester.

The oriental influence can also be seen in the stunning line of quality bamboo towels and bathrobes that are made of an innovative bamboo cotton / rayon mix and that are also available in a myriad of colors. Bamboo is an extremely versatile plant that’s used to make anything from fabric to musical instruments, and it grows naturally in both East and South East Asia. Bamboo rayon is also a very important component of the soft, organic and eco friendly Turkish bathrobes/towels that are so popular today, and, as Turkey is one of the world’s major exporters of textiles, the latter also serves to highlight the Eurasian influence on quality bathroom wear.

Moving from Asia to Africa, the dark continent’s influence is nowhere more noticeable than in the world of bath towels where Egyptian cotton towels, although fairly rare, are among the best on the market. With or without a monogram, Egyptian cotton washcloths, hand towels and bath towels are highly sought after and are found not only in the luxury spa but also in the middle-class home right next to the more pedestrian tubmat and floor mat.

The USA is also part of the equation, and the cotton used to make the delectable Supima towels and bathrobes is cultivated in California, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.

christmas

The holiday season is one of the most happy, exciting times of the year. During this time you’re likely traveling to the homes of friends and family, attending office parties, and hosting your own get-togethers.

Have you ever noticed that flu season coincides perfectly with the holidays? Most families with school-aged children know that this is the time that the flue and other ailments run rampant throughout the schools.

The last thing you want is to have the whole family sick during this happy time.

Here are a few tips to keep you healthy. Wash down countertops with an antibacerial wipe. Other areas you need to wipe down frequently include doorknobs, light switches and the handles of refrigerators, cupboards, doors, and faucets.

Already done this? Great! But there’s another area you may not think about-towels. Do you have hand towels or bath towels in the bathroom? These can become breeding grounds for germs. How often do you wipe your hands only to find that the towel you are using is already wet? The solution? Give each member of your family a special towel color. This ensures that germs don’t spread inadvertently.

Lastly, wash linens frequently, including bathrobes. The pockets of bathrobes are the perfect place to store extra tissues, and extra germs. You may end up doing lots of extra loads of laundry, but follow these few simple steps and enjoy a fun, healthy holiday season.

Add 3 drops of any food coloring that will complement the color of your chosen bathroom gift. Add 3 to 5 drops of perfume or essential oils. Mix the Epsom Salt with the food coloring and fragrance. Pour the salts back into the jar and tightly cap your homemade luxury gift.

Your jars of tinted homemade bath salts can be packaged with towels, bath mats, robes to give the appearance of a very fashionable gift. towels

Winter is just around the corner – in some parts of the country it’s already arrived – and that means two important things: it’s hard to get out of that nice, warm, cozy bed, and it’s also hard to finish that nice, hot shower and face the chilling blast of cold air when you open the shower door.

One trick you can use to mitigate the pain of stepping out of the shower is to use a heated towel rack. Place your towel and/or your bathrobe on the heated towel rack, and turn it on before you step into the shower. By the time your shower is done, your towel and your bathrobe will already be toasty.

On the high-end of heated towel racks, some devices have as many as 10 bars, so both your towel and your bathrobe have enough contact with the towel rack to make it plenty warm for you. Other devices are a little less expensive, but have fewer rails for your towel and bathrobe.

With a heated towel rack, you can change your attitude towards ending your hot shower in the dead of the winter. Instead of stepping out of the shower only to be greeted by goose bumps and chattering teeth, you’ll step into a warm towel and a warm bathrobe.
